Characteristics of a Grand Piano
● Strings are set horizontally.
● There are more parts inside than an upright piano.
● It is much larger than an upright piano. On a large grand piano, there is around 20 tons of pressure from the strings.

Pros and Cons of Grand Piano
Pros:
- Ability to play the same note consecutively with speed has better performance than an upright piano, and playing touch is more sensitive.
- Sound is better than an upright piano generally.
- Better control in dynamics, key touch and expression than an upright piano.
Cons:
- Larger floor space required.
- Usually more expensive than an upright piano.
- Harder to move around.
