Regulation
A piano is made up of more than 10,000 parts! Where all the magic happens is called the ‘action’. Each part in the action is set very precisely to make the piano play well and function as it should. Regulation is the work to check, adjust and on occasion repair any problems your piano could have in the action, which happen over time as you play. The piano will be more responsive, and you will be able to play the piano with more comfort and sensitivity - bringing out the full capability of your piano.
Recommended once every 5 years.
When does your piano benefit from a Regulation Service?
- One or more key(s) are not working well.
- If you feel that the key is too heavy or light when you play it.
- If you feel your piano is not playing as nicely as before
- If you like maintaining your piano for full functionality. A well cared, happy piano!
- When you play one or more notes, and release the keys, these notes are still ‘ringing on’ and do not properly stop.
A Regulation Service time varies depending on the condition of the piano.
